One thing I don't really like about myself is how negative I can be. I tend to find what's wrong with a situation before what's right. I am very judgmental of other people and critical of things they do. I often compare myself to them, how am I better, how would I do things differently, etc. So I have decided to start a gratitude journal to try to help me see things in a different light. I want to be able to be positive, and to find the positive around me and in other people.
So my goal is to write 10 things every day that I am grateful for. I highly doubt I will be able to do this every day, but I am going to try. My plan is to write every morning as I am having breakfast since that is the only time of the day I have to myself. But seeing as how it is already lunch time, today I am going to start at lunch.
1. I am grateful for my beautiful daughter and the smile she puts on my face.
2. I am grateful for the overall health of Brooklyn.
3. I am grateful that Brooklyn appears to be on the normal scale in terms of her development.
4. I am grateful for the influence of Aunt Patti in my life and how similar I am to her.
5. I am grateful that Callen is willing and able to stay at home with Brooklyn every day while I am at work.
6. I am grateful that I have a job.
7. I am grateful that I get along (mostly) with the people I work with.
8. I am grateful that the school year is coming to a close.
9. I am grateful that we are able to go on a vacation next week.
10. I am grateful that I was able to go to church today.
THere, that was easy enough. The tricky part is going to be finding new things every day to be grateful for that I haven't already used!
